The Tshwane Leadership Foundation is committed to socially inclusive urban regeneration. It is the grantee of the USAID New Partners Initiative (NPI) programme entitled “Overcoming vulnerability, claiming hope”.

 

The purpose of the programme is

· to strengthen faith-and community-based structures,

· to sustain and replicate existing services and programmes with the most vulnerable people in Tshwane’s inner city and beyond,

· to prevent the spread of HIV infection amongst marginalized groups, and

· to support holistic intervention and care programmes that encourage positive living with or without HIV/AIDS.

 

The programme includes

1. HIV & AIDS awareness, education & prevention

2. Provision of holistic HIV & AIDS palliative care & support

3. Voluntary Counselling & Testing

4. Care for Orphans & Vulnerable Children

5. Building institutional capacity of partners

 

The partners of the programme are

*    Lefika la Botshabelo

is an initiative by the St Peter’s Lutheran Church that embraces an integrated community development approach to care and support of Orphans and Vulnerable Children.

 

*    Pretoria Community Ministries (PCM)

The social development division of TLF works with vulnerable and marginalised people, including the homeless, displaced, girls at risk and vulnerable children within the context of HIV and AIDS and other related challenges.

 

*    Pretoria Evangelism & Nurture (PEN)

Working through Precious Pearls and Sediba Hope Centre, PEN provides supportive services to Orphans and Vulnerable Children including comprehensive care and support to people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.

 

*    Wesley Community Centre

Working through Mahube Clinic, the centre seeks to bring comfort and hope to those infected and affected by HIV & AIDS through practical expressions of healing and care.
